Our family is full of lovers of literature. I will admit, it’s a forced value I’ve put upon our kids, especially.
Books are piled and spilling over every table shelf, and basket in our home and car. We do lots of reading with our kids!
But even if you aren’t a book enthusiast like me, there are a few “classics” that have stood the test of time for a reason. Adorable stories, word patterns to help development, illustrations that captivate small eyes, and lessons you can easily reference throughout the years.
There are many “missing” from this list, but bare bone, must reads, the delightful stories my kids grab for time and time again are below are as followed:
*In no specific order
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See by Eric Carle
Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion
Corduroy by Don Freeman
If You Give A Mouse A Cookie by Lauren Numeroff
I Love You As Big As The World by David Van Burren
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen
Jamberry by Bruce Degan
The Little Blue Truck by Alice Scheffler
Happy Reading!
Abby
