Today my parents celebrate their 40th anniversary! So to them, and every other couple that has modeled consistent sacrifice and love, I dedicate these thank yous to you.
Thank you for choosing to stay together through thick and thin.
Thank you for putting in the work to grow, forgive and pursue.
Thank you for putting a positive connotation in my head when I hear the word "marriage".
Thank you for laughing together.
Thank you for setting boundaries to safe guard the treasure of covenant.
Thank you for letting me watch you worship together.
Thank you for buying "just because gifts" for each other that I saw on the kitchen table.
Thank you for investing in anniversary trips when it wasn't convenient.
Thank you for saying yes to each other a million times over and over again.
And on and on and on.... Thank you.
Today my parents renewed their vows, and I can't imagine how special it was to do so in the presence of all their children, church congregation and with their grandkids in the wedding party! Doing it God's way has rewards! Here are a few pictures from today. I was in mom + Aunt Abby mode so I don't have many of the ceremony, but it was such a special day.
